To understand our own nature, we need a good understanding of God's nature. We were made in His image, and restored through His grace. We have been made perfect... and now we are on a journey of learning how to believe it. For this course, we will explore- God's nature, our own nature, choosing between two identities, identity triggers, self-esteem, and the development of a truthful self-concept.

Each person has been delightfully designed by God, utterly unique. In this course, you will take a personality assessment and explore your core strengths and weaknesses. It is vital to consistently use your strengths and find work arounds for your weaknesses. We will also examine how well you fit in your current environment, what your sensory needs are, and how to handle personality extremes.

Jesus experienced every raw emotion and human mood- so He completely understands and empathizes with our journey. In this course, we will explore the healthy purpose of negative emotions and coping methods for strong emotions, such as anger, grief, and despair. We will discuss the three main ways people tend to process emotions (suppression, repression, and expression). We will begin "savoring" positive emotions such as joy, gratitude, and hope. Finally, we will look at mood challenges such as anxiety and depression, their physical underpinnings, and practical ways to cope.

This course is designed to dive into thought patterns, core beliefs, and the influence of brain and body on thought quality. We will learn how to avoid rigid thinking, unrealistic expectations, and perfectionism. We will apply the concept of grace - towards ourselves and others- to every thought and belief we cling to. Finally, we will discover the beautiful reality of how thoughts translate into actions- creating a platform for acting in faith.

This course will examine the purpose of stress, as well as four levels of life stress: hypostress, hyperstress, distress, and eustress. We will explore coping methods and finding balance. We will also create a self-care plan (modeled after - "Jesus went to a place where He could be alone." Mark 1:35, NLV).

This course will explore the darker side of life: challenges and suffering. These are actually a pathway to greater well-being, when channeled through the lens of grace. Topics will include: grief and loss, trauma, and spiritual defenses during times of suffering.

This course will explore the human to human connection, which is both vital and the source of some of our deepest sufferings. We will examine attachment, family patterns, marriage/ dating/ divorce, codependency and abuse, toxic relationships, boundaries, and more. At the end of this course, you should be well equipped to purposely choose life-giving relationships.

This course will explore methods for effective communication, which at its core- is human connection. We will examine conflict management styles, with a focus on creating a win-win resolution. We will incorporate role playing, body language, and listening skills. We will learn what forgiveness is, and what it isn't.

We know where we want to be, we just don't know how to get there. In this course, we will learn the best methods for incorporating healthy changes into our lives. We will explore concepts of locus of control- how much is our responsibility and how much do we leave up to God? We will also discover how long it takes for a new behavior to become ingrained as a nearly effortless habit.

The brilliant reality is that God is near us, all the time, through grace. But how do we connect to that reality? In this course, we'll explore how prayer, mindfulness, quiet, friendships, learning, nature, music, rest, gratitude, honesty, creativity, and more confirm God's realness and nourish us in His presence. There are unlimited ways to connect to God, and your way might not look like anyone else's.

This final course of the Graceology series will explore personal values and goals. We will examine risk-taking (when it's worth it), life meaning and purpose, flexibility, persistence, and more. We will explore the themes that have been present in our life thus far, and how to use those for a life of well-being and glory to God. The final project will be formulating a concrete goal plan- with manageable steps.
